9th International Biennial Of Photography And Visual Arts - Liège
Noise is a photography collective created by Pablo Beatove, Martine Bonardeaux, Samuel Defourny and Jonathan de Schaetzen in 2012.
Digital noise is often seen as a flaw, something to be avoided, something to conceal. But it can also be seen as it is : raw data and a reality that has to be taken into account.
Favourizing self-restraint, suggestion and subtlety rather than denouncement, the collective tackles vagueness, defect and half-tones… It endeavours to make noise heard again ; to bring into the light some realities often hidden into the shadows
Through architectural, social, feminine and philosophical themes, NOISE collectively explores, within the 2014 biennial ‘s framework, the perception and the ambiguous relationship between photography and our representation of reality. Images that creates the lie, images that reveals it, images that transforms a human into an object, images that cuts of bits of our reality….
